About Turkcell
Founded in 1994, Turkcell is a leading telecommunications and technology services provider headquartered in Istanbul. The company serves around 47.9 million customers.
Overview
Fizy is Turkcell’s music application platform that provides millions of songs and videos, popular radio channels, and curated playlists.
To meet high customer expectations and ensure reliable user experiences, Turkcell partnered with Testinium for Fizy’s software test automation management. This partnership also included the use of Testinium’s mobile device pool, helping Turkcell avoid the cost of maintaining its own device infrastructure.
Challenges
- Fizy operated across three countries (Turkey, Ukraine, and Cyprus) in five languages (Ukrainian, Russian, English, Turkish, and German) and served around 8.5 million subscribers.
- There were no existing test cases at the start of the project.
- Turkcell needed to establish a sustainable test automation culture within its QA process.
Solutions
At the beginning of the collaboration, a comprehensive test coverage analysis was conducted. This process resulted in nearly 500 automated regression test cases for both iOS and Android platforms.
All test scenarios were stored in a structured repository that stayed synchronized with new application versions. Language support was expanded globally to maintain consistent coverage across all regions.
The project scope included:
- Automated mobile application tests
- Manual mobile application tests
- Web platform test case design and execution
- Back-end testing for web and mobile platforms
- Content Management System (CMS) tests
Results
- More than 500 automated test cases are running across 12 Android and 8 iOS devices.
- Total execution time was reduced to 8 hours through parallel execution.
- Turkcell achieved a reliable, scalable, and repeatable testing process that ensured Fizy’s quality before every release.
By implementing Testinium’s test automation solutions, Turkcell successfully improved Fizy’s product quality, reduced manual effort, and strengthened its release cycle efficiency.
